Board Advisors


Joe Viser PhotoJoe Viser – Theatre Manager

Although not a board member per se, Joe is our Theatre Manager and sits in on Board meetings as an advisor. Joe is one of the original members of the Crighton Players and had the distinction of directing the first Crighton Players production performed on the Crighton Stage, The Last Meeting of the Knights of the White Magnolia.  He also had the distinction of directing the first Crighton players production on the Owen Theatre stage, Wait Until Dark. Some of the shows he has directed for the Players are; Streetcar Named Desire, Lost in Yonkers, and All My Sons. Joe has also performed in many of the Players productions such as, It’s A Wonderful Life as Mr. Potter, Laura as Mr. Lydecker and he was Mr. Van Daan in Diary of Anne Frank. Joe is a published poet and lives in Shenandoah with his wife Susan.

Terry Lynn Hale has had a love affair with the Crighton Players for over 21 years and in that time she has worn every hat, including that of Props Mistress, Actress, Stage Manager, and Director. She is a past president and member of the Crighton Players Board of Directors. Some of her most memorable roles with the Crighton Players include Philadelphia Story as Margaret Lord, Cemetery Club as Lucille, All My Sons as Kate Keller, The Crucible as Mrs. Ann Putnam and Noises Off as Dotty Otley.

Bill Torgan PhotoBill Torgan – President (3)

Bill is a play director for the Crighton Players having directed Fiddler on the Roof, Mister Roberts, Death by Chocolate, and most recently at the Owen theatre, the hilarious Leading Ladies. Bill has acted in numerous plays with his most prestigious role being that of the King in The King & I and his most favorite show Pump Boys & Dinettes. Bill Plays Guitar, Banjo, and Keyboard. He is a past president of the Board of Directors and has served as chairperson for the membership and season ticket committees and well as webmaster and was instrumental in setting up the on-line ticketing and box office computer system for the Owen Theatre. Bill is also the Volunteer Coordinator for the Crighton Players organization. He is single and lives in Conroe.


Jeff Baldwin PhotoJeffrey L. Baldwin – President-Elect (2)

Jeff recently directed the Crighton Player’s critically acclaimed production of Oliver. He has also directed local productions of Camelot, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Taming of the Shrew and numerous industrial shows, children’s shows and themed entertainments. As an actor Jeff has appeared with the Players in Dirty Rotten Scoundrel as Lawrence, Melvin P. Thorpe in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Annie Get Your Gun as Frank Butler, A Few Good Men as Lt. Col. Nathan Jessep, Fiddler on the Roof as Tevye and Daddy’s Dyin’ (Who’s Got The Will). A professional Actor for more than twenty years he has performed with Theatre Under the Stars, Houston Shakespeare Festival, Stages Repertory Theatre and Strand Street Theatre among others. This fall Jeff will be celebrating his 33rd season with the Texas Renaissance Festival where he serves as the Producer/Director and Graphic Artists.

Roger Ormiston PhotoRoger Ormiston – Treasurer (1)

Roger first joined the Crighton Players in 1982 and has been seen onstage in about 30 of our productions. He has worked off-stage in dozens of others and currently does lighting design for many of our shows. Roger is a past President of the Board, and was the original CrightonPlayers.org Web Master. Professionally, he is a licensed Professional Real Estate Inspector and owner of 1-2-3 Home Inspections in Conroe.

Becky is a longtime member of the Crighton Players. She has served on numerous committees as well as heading up intermission concession sales for a number of years. Becky has stage managed, worked lights and sound, assistant directed and directed for many shows.

Larry Calhoun PhotoLarry Calhoun (3)

Larry Calhoun has been a member of the Crighton Players for over 29 years. He has appeared in and directed many productions for the Players including Days of Wine and Roses, Jesus Christ Superstar, Camelot, Evita, Big River, Smokey Joe’s Cafe’, Man of LaMancha and The Crucible. He is a past president of the Players’ Board of Directors and is the Executive Director of the Conroe Industrial Development Corporation.


Dale TrimbleDale Trimble (3)

Dale is a past President of the Crighton Players and has served in many capacities in service of the players.  Dale is replacing Vince Roby who resigned for health reasons.  We wish Vince the best and welcome Dale.  Dale has acted in so many plays for the players it would be easier to list the shows he was not involved in rather than those he has taken part.


Craig Campobella PhotoCraig Campobella (2)

Craig Campobella has been involved in theater since he was 6 years old. He studied with the the famous acting coach Nina Foch in Los Angeles and at the heralded HB Studios in New York. He received his SAG/AFTRA card after being cast in a CBS movie of the Week as Dr. Rose in “The Skys No Limit” in the early 80′s. Craig has been seen as Sgt. Toomey in Biloxi Blues, Roy in Lone Star, Johnathon Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace, Lyle in Exit the Body, and Ray Bud in Dearly Departed. Craig particularly enjoys classical theater and studies and incorporates the Stanislavski Method in Acting. Recently Craig has been heard and seen in the Houston area in a variety of commercials and feature docmentaries as on-camera talent and as a voice over actor for Louetta Automotive, The Sam Houston Movie and United Way fundraising videos. Craig makes his living as a professional sculptor having completed 3 major public installations in the past 12 months.


Carol Halley PhotoCarol Halley (2)

Carol has been an active member of the Crighton Players for about 4 years. Some of her previous credits include Dearly Departed (Veda), Steel Magnolias (Truvy), The Uninvited (Mrs. Jessop), MASH (Congresswoman) and most recently, Live from the Vegas Strip (Carol Channing). She has worked as stage manager and backstage crew for several productions and is an active member of the drama and music departments at church. Her hobbies include history, music and sailing. Carol is an RN Case Manager at Memorial Hermann Hospital and has two grown children.


Kathy Hamilton PhotoJudge Kathy Hamilton (2)

Kathy has recently returned to the Crighton Players stage after about a 10 year hiatus. She has been in the Crighton Players shows Life with Father, Father of the Bride, The Women, Laura, Damn Yankees, Blithe Spirit, Tartuffe, A Christmas Carol and Our Town. Kathy is a State Judge in the 359th District Court, hearing civil, felony criminal, and family matters, as well as presiding over the very successful Drug Court.

This is Chuck’s first time on the Board of Directors, but not his first involvement. Chuck has been involved with the Players for some time as a season ticket patron, first nighter supporter, actor, and assistant director. Chuck was in Mister Roberts, M*A*S*H, and assisted direction on Death by Chocolate and Leading Ladies.

Joey Lamont is a familiar face to our audiences, Joey has appeared in many Players’ productions. His first appearance was in Taming of the Shrew (Petruchio) and the most recent was in Teahouse of the August Moon (Capt. Fisby). Some favorite roles include: Oklahoma (Ali Hakim), Stalag 17 (Stosh), Boys Next Door (Lucien P Smith) and no one will ever forget his portrayal of Vesta Poteet in RADIO T.B.S.



Cindy Siple PhotoCindy Siple (1)

Cindy Siple began her career with the Pittsburgh Ballet and Civic Light Opera. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State and a Master’s from the University of Pittsburgh. She has performed with regional theatres and professional touring companies throughout the country including Flat Rock Playhouse, Texas Repertory Theatre, Southeastern Theatrical Productions. Cindy has served on the Board of Directors of the Crighton Players and is thankful for the opportunity to continue her work with this great company of players. Recent roles: The Rainmaker (Lizzy), Steel Magnolias (M’Lynn), Night of the Iguana (Hannah), A Flea In Her Ear (Yvonne), and Dearly Departed (Lucille). She and her wonderful husband, Roger, have three beautiful children and live on a ranch in Conroe.
