Crighton Kidz is the junior division of the Crighton Players.  This year Kidz Children’s Theatre classes are once a week at the Owen Theatre on Metcalf Street in Downtown Conroe.  Kidz between the ages of 15~11 have class on Tuesdays from 5:15~6:40 pm.  Kidz between the ages of 12~18 have class on Mondays from 5:15~6:40 pm.  To join the Kidz program call Terry Woods at 936-524-4242 or simply stop by when class is in session.  Please Call Terry Woods for a price schedule.

The staff includes Terry Woods, Jeanie Jackson, and teen assistant Jordan McLaughlin.  This extraordinary team has the same things in common; a love of theatre and a passion for Kidz who are learning to love theatre too.

The managing director of the Crighton Kidz is Terry Woods.  Terry is a veteran educator with over 30 years experience as a teacher, administrator and consultant.  She is also a lifetime member of the Crighton Players with more then ten years as a volunteer actress, stage hand, board of directors member and has served as the organization’s president.  She is also well experienced with many other aspects of production crafts as well.  Terry is the Director/Instructor for the Conroe ISD GED program.  She writes and directs short dramas at her church and is acting coach for the Lifelong Senior Theatre.

Terry co-teaches the 5~11 year old kidz along with Jeanie Jackson.  Jeanie does acting workshops for children and is also a veteran educator with more than 30 years experience having taught middle school theatre for many years.  Jeanie spent years directing UIL one act plays.  Her approach to teaching theatre is active, fresh and inviting.  Jeanie is co-author with Nancy Prince of a book titled “Exploring Theatre” which is a middle school textbook published my McGraw-Hill that is used throughout Texas in public school theatre classes.  Jeanie is the Drama director at her church.

This year the Kidz have teen assistants who help with classes and productions.  The Kidz are a group of enthusiastic young actors who reach out to the community: creatively, musically, and theatrically.
