OUR TOWN, by Thornton Wilder
The story begins in 1901 in the village of Grover’s Corner in New Hampshire. This is a time when everyone in town knew each other and cared about their neighbors. The 24 characters present humor and pathos set against a background of centuries of time, social history and religious ideas. This sentimental journey shows lives becoming intertwined by growing up together, loving, marrying, doctoring, living and dying.
Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize winner is a touching experience that may leave you wishing for a return to simpler times.
OUR TOWN, directed by Grace Thompson, opens March 5 through March 28 at Conroe’s Owen Theatre. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8PM. Sunday matinees are at 2PM.
Tickets may be purchased on line at crightonplayers.org or by calling the box office 936-539-4090. Off hour phone messages will be returned.
