Website News

There is a new website in town.

www.owentheatre.com has been built with our patrons in mind.  Patrons and theatre enthusiasts can go to the Owen Theatre’s website and see what show is being performed now, who the directors are, check out the events calendar, see what show is being performed next, ticket information, donation information, how to advertise in our programs or how to donate to our organization.  The site is patron friendly and we will be advertising the www.owentheatre.com website in the future in all of our print media.

So why build a new website?

The answer is simple, although patrons have always been able to find out about our shows by going to the Crighton Players website much of the other information we would like them to notice got lost in the clutter. By trying to cater to both our patrons and our membership we created an atmosphere which made it more difficult for each group to find what they were looking for. Both websites will link back to each other so all information will be at hand. It will just be easier to find now.

So what’s next?

The Owen Theatre website is now complete, so the next logical step is to rebuild the Crighton Players website. Over the next several weeks I will be modifying the Players website, not only with what is seen by members, but with what is not seen as well. I will be hardening the site to help prevent some of the attacks we have suffered in the past and I will be adding some new features, all geared to our membership interests. The Theatre site will be the public window to our plays while the membership site will be more of a blog.

While I am working on the website in areas that require full control, I will put up a temporary page with links to allow ticket purchasing and redirection to the Owen Theatre website. While some features will be unavailable while I am doing this I will try to keep the down time to a minimum.

As always I welcome your opinions and suggestions.

Sincerely,

Bill Torgan
Webmaster
